Walking in to walls

Today we woke up on rock hard beds at 8:30, the beds were so hard that Nevin tried to sleep on the floor. But anyway, we woke up rushed, to go on our long journey to the walled city (Colombia's old city). When we got there, people were coming up to us with beads, earrings, hats, glasses, and maracas. Even though our legs were dying and the weather was hot, we didn't stop our journey. we sat on the cannons on the wall surrounding the city.  On the way Nevin got a cool necklace and I got 1 feather earring and a pair of shoes (my flip flops were giving me blisters). Melisa got the ol Gringo special when she was buying the shoes, the lady tricked her good by taking her 50,000 pesos (15$) instead of 5,000 pesos (1.50$)

Meanwhile in the plaza AQ, Q, J and N were being roped into a photo shoot we Colombian families from southern Colombia bc of their beautiful blonde hair.  Probably 15 different families. 

After that we went on a long walk to the Sofitel. We were so close to the Hotel (1 and 1/2 blocks away) but then all of the sudden it started RAINING! We ran to the closest roofed area and we stood there for about 1 hour while the moms shopped til they dropped. Then the rain stopped and we walked to the Hotel to have some drinks, afterward Nevin, Andrew and I went home while my mom and Jesica stayed to shop. When we got home we jumped in the pool and had fun. soon we were tired and went back to our room and to our surprise mom and Jesica walked in the door! After an hour or two on our electronics we went to a pizza place for dinner, which was delicious, where we wrote a blog, it started like this: Today we woke up on rock hard beds...
