Adios America... Sayonara Suckers

7/13/16

BY ANDREW

The intrepid travelers (Kennedi, Melisa, Jesica, Nevin, the Snoot, and Andrew) woke before the crack of dawn in Orlando and sleepily got on the shuttle to the airport for a 8:10 flight.  Their first flight took them to Fort Lauderdale. We needed some food for are belly's pronto so we got Cuban pancakes and 'cortadito' coffee for Mel.
We boarded the flight to Cartagena, Colombia and bid farewell to the ol' US and A.  Yahoooooeeeeee
We flew over crystal clear turquoise Caribbean water and touched down in beautiful Colombia.  We sailed through customs and got stamps in our passports earlier then anyone else because the houniee (Quincy) was so cute.
We exchanged some money and caught a cab to the AirBnB apartment where we are staying.  Everyone was really hungry so we took our first Colombian walk to a Supermercado. We ate roasted chicken, potatoes, corn cakes, rice and pork. And the adults enjoyed their first Colombian adult beverage.  Nevin completed his first transaction by buying himself and Kennedi agua.  It was very yummy.  We bought some groceries and headed back to the apartment to cool off and swim in the pool on the 14th floor!!!!! After the pool we enjoyed a traditional siesta.  Some of us woke up in time to see the beautiful sunset, others (AQ) slept through it.  We settled in for the night, excited about exploring the city tomorrow. Stay tuned.......
